Thanks in part to last year’s lackluster numbers, ESPN had its first increase of the season for Monday Night Football.
The Week 6 edition of Monday Night Football, pitting the winless Dolphins against the 2-3 Jets, earned a 9.2 overnight rating on ESPN — up 28% from Week 6 last year (JAX/HOU: 7.2), but down 4% from 2009 (DEN/SD: 9.6).
This marks the first time all year that ESPN has had an increase in overnight ratings for Monday Night Football.
Keep in mind last year’s game earned the lowest MNF overnight of the season.
Despite the increase, Monday’s game ranked as the lowest rated game of Week 5 in the metered markets.
