The 2012 Heisman Trophy Presentation attracted good numbers for ESPN Saturday night.

Coverage of the Heisman Trophy Presentation earned 3.1 U.S. rating and 4.9 million viewers on ESPN Saturday night, up 7% in ratings and viewership from last year (2.9, 4.6M), and up 35% and 30%, respectively, from 2010 (2.3, 3.8M).

The telecast ranks as the 2nd-most watched Heisman Trophy Presentation on record, trailing only the 2009 edition (6.0M).

In addition, the telecast earned ESPN’s best Saturday night audience in nearly two months — since the October 13 South Carolina/Louisiana State college football game (3.7, 6.0M).
