The UEFA Champions League semifinals had steep declines in viewership on Fox Sports 1.
The second leg of the Real Madrid/Manchester City Champions League semifinal drew 472,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday afternoon, down a third from Real Madrid/Juventus last year (704K) and down 25% from Chelsea/Atlético Madrid in 2014 (627K).
Coverage on Fox Deportes had 412,000, down 21% from last year on ESPN Deportes (520K). The combined total of roughly 884,000 trailed last year’s audience of 1.2 million by 28%.
On Tuesday, the second leg of Bayern Munich/Atlético Madrid had 430,000 — down 19% from Bayern Munich/Barcelona last year (530K) and down 23% from Bayern Munich/Real Madrid in 2014 (557K). Viewership on ESPN Deportes was not immediately available.
In the first leg of the semifinals, Real Madrid/Manchester City had 409,000 on April 26 (-32%) and Bayern Munich/Atlético Madrid had 357,000 on April 27 (-42%).
