- Tony Kornheiser: After years of being far more well known for his ESPN work than for his writing, the Monday Night Football analyst and Pardon the Interruption co-host has accepted a buyout from the Washington Post. Kornheiser had worked at the Post for nearly to 30 years.
- Bill Simmons: The Page 2 personality is apparently at odds with his ESPN bosses. In addition to telling Deadspin he is “not writing for ESPN.com as much” by choice, Simmons explained that he “really did believe that we had … come to some sort of agreement on creative lines, media criticism rules, the promotion of the column and everything else on ESPN.com. Within a few months, all of those things changed and certain promises were not kept. It’s as simple as that.”
- Dan Le Betard: The Miami Herald columnist is taking a year-long sabbatical from the paper. Le Batard has an option to write during his sabbatical, “but only when I’m moved instead of obligated“, and says he will “still do the occasional Pardon the Interruption on ESPN.”
