- Keith Olbermann: The NBC NFL co-host and host of a political program on MSNBC has a blog on MLB.com. The blog, entitled The Baseball Nerd, launched on Monday. Olbermann writes that “[t]his blog is about baseball and not politics; I won’t touch the latter here unless it unavoidably pertains to something between the foul lines, so write all you want about left-versus-right – I hope you find it entertaining to yourself, I won’t be reading it.”
- Dave Winfield: The baseball Hall of Famer could be headed to ESPN as an MLB analyst. An ESPN spokesman told Newsday that Winfield is in discussions with the network, but “nothing is finalized.” Winfield was an analyst on FOX in 1996, the network’s first year covering baseball.
- Charles Barkley: The TNT NBA analyst made a special appearance on NBA TV Wednesday night. Among the highlights was Barkley forcing a commercial break during NBA TV’s two-hour NBA Gametime telecast because he had to go to the bathroom.
