- The NFL has re-signed with longtime radio partner Westwood One. The Sports Business Daily reported earlier this week that the NFL and Westwood One have agreed on a “2-year deal worth more than $30M in guaranteed money.” Under terms of the deal, Westwood One will continue airing every national regular season and postseason NFL game, including games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, every playoff game and the Super Bowl.
- The new United Football League will have a weekly presence on national television. The UFL announced earlier this week that cable network Versus will air weekly Thursday night telecasts during the league’s inaugural season. The UFL season begins next October, with a championship game set for late November.
- Superman versus Krypto-Nate will hit the national stage next month. ESPN2 has swapped its originally scheduled April 10 Wizards/Raptors game with a Knicks/Magic tilt that could have playoff implications. The game will be the Knicks’ first on national television since a road game against the Blazers last February on ESPN.
