- Bill Weber: The NASCAR on TNT play-by-play voice will not return to TNT this season. Weber was suspended for last Sunday’s Lenox Industrial Tools 301 after an incident at his hotel last Friday night. Ralph Sheheen, who filled in for Weber on Sunday, will call the final two races of the season. A Turner Sports statement on Weber “gave no indication whether or not Weber would continue with the network in 2010.”
- Tony George: The CEO of the Indy Racing League and Indianapolis Motor Speedway stepped down on Tuesday, ending a tumultuous 19-year run. George founded the IRL in the 1990s as an alternative to the already established CART series, creating a bitter split in open wheel racing that lasted over a decade.
- Tom Brennan: The ESPN college basketball analyst will not be returning to the network. Brennan told the Burlington Free Press, “They are not renewing me. I kind of knew that I might not continue. I knew I was on the bubble.” Brennan had been with ESPN since ’05.
