- CBS did not turn a profit on the 2010 NCAA Tournament, sources told Sports Business Journal. According to an executive with knowledge of the NCAA’s ongoing discussions regarding opting out of its current deal with CBS and expanding the NCAA Tournament to 96 teams, it is “pretty clear that an over-the-air network can?t afford this event by itself.” CBS and Turner Sports have discussed a joint bid for the potential 96-team tournament. - For the second straight year, NBA TV will use local announcers for its slate of approximately six NBA Playoff games. The network will air pregame and postgame shows prior to each game using its own talent.
