The good times continue to roll for Sunday Night Football on NBC, as the network earned its sixth increase in seven telecasts.
NBC drew an 11.7 final rating and 19.115 million viewers for Sunday’s Colts/Washington game, up 7% in ratings and 5% in viewership from Week 6 last year (CHI/ATL: 10.9, 18.170 mil), and up 43% and 47%, respectively, from Week 6 two years ago (NE/SD: 8.2, 13.051 mil).
This marks the sixth time in seven telecasts this season that NBC has had an increase in ratings and viewership for Sunday Night Football.
SNF trounced Game 2 of the NLCS on FOX (5.3, 8.835 mil) head-to-head. The game drew the most viewers for a primetime NFL telecast opposite the MLB League Championship Series since 1997.
Eagles/Washington ranked as the second-highest rated and third-most viewed primetime program of the week on broadcast. The game was #1 for the week among all key adult and male demographics, including adults 18-49 (7.4).
Through Week 6, NBC is averaging a 12.9 rating and 21.4 million viewers for NFL coverage, up 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year, and up 26% and 29%, respectively, from 2008.
NBC’s average viewership is the highest for any NFL primetime package since 1996.
