ESPN had its biggest ratings increase of the season for Monday Night Football, owing in large part to last year’s low numbers.
The Eagles’ 31-point blowout win over Washington drew a 9.3 U.S. rating and 15.032 million viewers on ESPN Monday night, up 43% in ratings and 47% in viewership from Week 10 last year (BAL/CLE: 6.5, 10.196 mil), and up 22% and 27%, respectively, from Week 10 in 2008 (SF/AZ: 7.6, 11.870 mil).
The year-to-year increases are the largest of the season for a Monday Night Football telecast. Keep in mind last year’s Ravens/Browns game was the lowest rated, least-viewed MNF telecast of the 2009-10 season.
Eagles/Washington ranks as the 13th-most viewed Monday Night Football telecast on ESPN since the network acquired the rights in 2006.
Of the fourteen most-viewed Monday night games on ESPN, six have taken place this season alone.
Through Week 10, ESPN is averaging a 9.2 U.S. rating and 14.700 million viewers for Monday Night Football, a 4% viewership increase compared to last year (14.196 mil).
