Albeit in a weaker timeslot, the Packers’ Divisional Round win over the Falcons could not compare in the ratings to their Wild Card triumph over the Eagles.
Saturday’s Packers/Falcons NFC Divisional Round game earned a 17.0 final rating and 30.817 million viewers on FOX, flat in ratings and up 1% in viewership from last year (BAL/IND: 17.0, 30.569 mil, CBS), and up 23% and 30%, respectively, from 2009 (ARI/NO: 13.8, 23.776 mil, FOX).
The Packers’ win ranks as the most-viewed Saturday Divisional Round game on FOX since the 1995-96 season.
Additionally, the 17.0 rating is tied as the third-highest for the late Saturday Divisional Round window dating back to the 1998-99 season. Only Jaguars/Patriots on CBS in 2007 (17.9) and Raiders/Patriots on CBS in 2002 (17.4) did better in that timeslot.
By comparison, the Packers/Eagles Wild Card game earned a 22.1 and 39.3 million viewers six days earlier.
Despite the strong numbers, Packers/Falcons was the lowest rated, least-viewed game of the Divisional Round. Both NFC Divisional Round games on FOX drew lower numbers than the weekend’s AFC games on CBS.
Locally, Saturday’s game drew a 51.8 rating in the Milwaukee market and a 35.8 in Atlanta.
