FOX finished the 2010-11 NFL regular season with mixed numbers for its Week 17 doubleheader.
The Week 17 NFL national window on FOX, featuring Bears/Packers in 56% of TV markets, earned a 14.7 final rating and 26.147 million viewers last Sunday afternoon — down 3% in ratings and 1% in viewership from Week 17 last year (DAL/PHI*: 15.2, 26.453 mil).
Despite the decline, the telecast ranks as the eleventh-most viewed of the NFL season (97 telecasts). Of the twelve most-viewed NFL telecasts this season, seven aired on FOX — topping CBS (four) and NBC (one).
Overall, seventeen NFL telecasts topped 25 million viewers during the 2010-11 season, nearly doubling last year’s full season total of nine.
The national window was the top program of the week (Dec. 27-Jan. 2) in seven NFL markets: Milwaukee (CHI/GB: 49.8), Chicago (CHI/GB: 37.8), Dallas (DAL/PHI: 30.2), Washington, DC (NYG/WSH: 26.8), New York (NYG/WSH: 19.1), Phoenix (ARI/SF: 17.1), and the Bay Area (ARI/SF: 15.4).
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Buccaneers/Saints in 70% of markets earned a 9.6 and 16.083 million viewers, flat in ratings and up 3% in viewership from last year (NYG/MIN*: 9.6, 15.617 mil).
The early window was the week’s top program in just two markets: Detroit (MIN/DET: 27.9) and Tampa-St. Petersburg (TB/NO: 20.5).
