Ratings for Bulls games on Comcast SportsNet Chicago are up 66% this season, with Monday’s game against the Hornets setting an all-time record for a regular season or playoff game on the network.
The Bulls’ win against the Hornets earned a 7.21 rating on CSN Chicago Monday night, the highest rating ever for a regular season or postseason Bulls telecast on the network (dates back to 2004).
The previous record was set by Celtics/Bulls Game 6 in 2009, which drew a 6.35 on CSN Chicago. Of note, that game also aired on TNT, earning a combined 13.72 local rating across both networks.
This is the third time this season CSN Chicago has broken a regular season ratings record for Bulls coverage. Bulls/Rockets in November was the first record-setter (5.51), followed by Sixers/Bulls in late December (5.70).
Prior to this season, the record for a Bulls game on CSN Chicago was a 4.72 for Bulls/Hornets in January 2010. That game no longer ranks in the top ten.
So far this season, CSN Chicago is averaging a 4.22 rating for Bulls telecasts, up 66% from the comparable point last year.
