Though down from last year, final round coverage of The Masters earned the second-largest audience for the event in ten years.
CBS drew a 9.5 fast-national rating and 15.257 million viewers for final round coverage of The Masters last Sunday, down 11% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (10.7, 16.676M), but up 15% and 7%, respectively, from 2009 (8.3, 14.303M).
This marks the second-most viewed final round of The Masters since 2001 (19.157M). Only last year’s aforementioned final round did better.
In addition, the 9.5 rating is the third-highest since 2001 (13.3), behind last year and 2005 (9.8).
Excluding years when Tiger Woods won the event, this marks the third-most viewed final round of the past sixteen years, behind only last year and 1998 (15.590M).
Third round action on April 9 earned a 6.5 and 9.486 million viewers, down 3% in ratings and 4% in viewership from last year (6.7, 9.897M), but up 23% and 17%, respectively, from 2009 (5.3, 8.135M).
The 6.5 rating is the second-highest for third-round coverage of the event since 2001 (7.8), again behind only last year.
