As a result, Buck has sounded “noticeably raspy” on FOX MLB telecasts this year (dailynews.com, 7/7). - Bobcats Lay Off Radio Voice: Bobcats radio play-by-play voice Scott Lauer is one of several team employees who have been relieved of their duties in the past week. The move “appears to be a cost-saving decision” due to the ongoing NBA lockout. Lauer, who has been with the Bobcats since the team began play in 2004, says he has been “given the impression” that he will be “doing the games again once there are games.” (newsobserver.com)
