The high scoring Alamo Bowl was up double-digits from last year, though the numbers could not quite touch the record set two seasons ago.
The Alamo Bowl, a 67-56 shootout between #12 Baylor and unranked Washington, earned a 4.4 U.S. rating and 6.923 million viewers on ESPN last Thursday night — up 57% in ratings and 49% in viewership from last season (OKST/ARI: 2.8, 4.643M), and down 8% and 12%, respectively, from the 2009-10 season (TTU/MSU: 4.8, 7.829M).
Keep in mind the 2009-10 Alamo Bowl was the most-viewed non-BCS bowl ever on ESPN.
Last week’s game earned the top non-NFL audience of the week on cable.
