Ratings, Viewership, Up Big For Women’s British Open
- Final round coverage of the Women’s British Open, won by American Stacy Lewis, drew a 0.3 U.S. rating and 436,000 viewers on ESPN2 last Sunday — up 200% in ratings and 148% in viewership from last year, when the tournament took place in September (0.1, 176K). An hour-long encore on ABC drew a 0.4 and 456,000 later in the day. Rounding out the rest of ESPN2’s coverage, third round action last Saturday drew a 0.2 and 193,000, second round coverage last Friday drew a 0.2 and 210,000, and first round coverage on August 1 earned a 0.2 and 185,000. PGA Championship Overnights Hit Four-Year High
- Friday’s second round coverage of the PGA Championship drew a 1.7 overnight rating on TNT, up 42% from last year’s coverage opposite the Olympics (1.2), and the highest second round overnight since 2009 (2.1). Through two days, the tournament has averaged a 1.4 overnight on TNT — up 56% from last year (0.9), and the highest two-round average since 2009 (1.6). (news.turner.com)
Packers’ Preseason Opener Down From Last Year
- The Packers’ preseason opener against the Cardinals drew a 16.5 rating on Milwaukee NBC affiliate WTMJ Friday night, down 36% from last year’s opener on ESPN and ABC affiliate WISN (25.6).
