NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” barely avoided a season-low last week.
The Week 9 Colts/Texans “SNF” game drew a 10.4 final rating and 17.0 million viewers on NBC, down 21% in ratings and 22% in viewership from Cowboys/Falcons last year (13.2, 21.8M), and down 22% and 23%, respectively, from Ravens/Steelers in 2011 (13.3, 22.1M).
Colts/Texans ranks as the second-least viewed NFL telecast of the season on NBC, ahead of only Packers/Vikings opposite the World Series one week earlier (16.9M).
The Texans’ two “SNF” appearances this season rank among the three lowest rated and least-viewed of the season.
Sunday’s game also had the largest decline of the season on NBC. Seven of the network’s ten telecasts have had declines, but Colts/Texans was only the second to drop by double-digits.
Among adults 18-49, “SNF” drew a 6.3 rating — down 26% from last year (8.5) and down 28% from 2011 (8.8).
