The second-to-last “Monday Night Football” telecast of the season put up solid numbers on ESPN.
The Week 15 Ravens/Lions “Monday Night Football” game drew a 9.0 U.S. rating and 14.2 million viewers on ESPN, up 36% in ratings and 40% in viewership from Jets/Titans last year (6.6, 10.1M), but down 11% and 15%, respectively, from Steelers/49ers in 2011 (10.1, 16.7M).
Ravens/Lions continued a strong late season run for ESPN. Four of the network’s last five telecasts have earned at least a 9.0 rating, compared to just three of the previous eleven.
Four of the last five telecasts have also had increases over last year, matching the total for the first eleven.
Among adults 18-49, Monday’s game drew a 4.8 rating — up 33% from last year (3.6), but down 25% from 2011 (6.4).
Entering next week’s season finale, “Monday Night Football” has averaged an 8.7 U.S. rating and 13.7 million viewers on ESPN, up 5% in ratings and viewership from last year.
