The top college basketball game of the season on any network was Duke/Syracuse on ESPN the day before the Super Bowl (2.9, 4.7M). The Big Ten Champ. Game on CBS ranked second (2.7, 4.5M). ESPN aired four of the five most-viewed games, with Syracuse/Duke on February 22 (2.4, 4.2M), Michigan State/Kentucky on November 12 (2.6, 4.0M), and UNC/Duke on March 8 (2.1, 3.5M) rounding out the top five.
Of 942 games on CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ABC, FOX, FS1, Fox Sports 2 and NBCSN, only nine drew a rating of 2.0 or higher. By comparison, 770 drew a rating of 0.5 or lower, 524 drew a rating of 0.1 or lower, and 246 had a 0.0 rating. ESPNU aired 100 games with a 0.0 rating, and FS1 aired 74.
FS1 and Fox Sports 2 combined to air the ten least-viewed games of the season, each of which earned fewer than 10,000 viewers. In a three-way tie for dead last were Monmouth/Seton Hall on November 18, Houston Baptist/DePaul on December 18, and VCU/Boston College on December 28, which each earned just 1,000 viewers on FS2. Nine of the ten least-viewed games involved a Big East team.
