Fox Sports has officially hired former ESPN executive Jamie Horowitz to oversee its cable networks. In other news, NBC NHL analyst and horse racing fan Eddie Olczyk will cover the Kentucky Derby, and NFL Network has tapped three college football coaches for its NFL Draft telecasts.
Horowitz Officially Joins Fox Sports
- Former ESPN executive Jamie Horowitz, who was hired and fired by NBC News before a single day on the job, has joined Fox Sports in the newly created position of President, Fox Sports National Networks. Horowitz will oversee the programming, marketing and scheduling of Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, specifically managing the day-to-day operations of the networks’ studio programming. NBC’s Olczyk to Work Triple Crown Races
- NBC Sports NHL analyst Ed Olczyk will serve as a handicapper and analyst for NBC’s coverage of Triple Crown horse races, starting with the Kentucky Derby next month. Coaches Shaw, Strong and Fitzgerald to Cover Draft For NFL Network
- Active college football coaches David Shaw (Stanford), Charlie Strong (Texas) and Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern) will serve as guest analysts for the NFL Draft on NFL Network. Shaw, working his fourth straight NFL Draft for the network, will work opening round coverage next Thursday. Strong and Fitzgerald will appear on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
