ESPN has re-signed yet another on-air personality. In other news, former CBS analyst Spencer Tillman is headed to Fox Sports, and the Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez may be seeking a guest analyst spot.
ESPN Re-Signs Another

Schaap will continue to appear on E:60, Outside the Lines, SportsCenter and other ESPN studio shows, as well as host The Sporting Life on ESPN Radio and ESPN’s on-site Olympic coverage. ESPN has now held onto seven on-air personalities in the past month. (ESPN Media Zone)
Former CBS Analyst Tillman Joins FOX, Brando
- Fox Sports has hired former CBS college football studio analyst Spencer Tillman, the Houston Chronicle reported last week. Tillman will serve as a game analyst alongside play-by-play voice Tim Brando, with whom he worked in the CBS studio from 1998-13. (Houston Chronicle via Awful Announcing)
Rodriguez Reportedly Inquiring About Analyst Roles
- According to the New York Daily News, representatives for New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez have made preliminary contact with Fox Sports, Turner Sports and ESPN about possible roles on the broadcasters’ MLB Postseason coverage. There is precedent for controversial figures appearing on MLB TV coverage, with Pete Rose having joined Fox Sports this season. The reported talks may be rendered moot, at least this year, as the Yankees currently lead the A.L. East. (NYDN)
