For the first time since Week 2, FOX scored an increase in viewership for NFL action.
The Week 6 NFL singleheader window, featuring Panthers/Seahawks in 38% of markets, drew a 10.6 final rating and 17.9 million viewers on FOX last Sunday afternoon — up 13% in ratings and 16% in viewership from coverage on CBS last year (9.4, 15.4M), and the highest rated singleheader in Week 6 of the season since 2010 (12.8).
The telecast, which included just three other games, was the first on FOX since Week 2 to have an increase in viewership. The network’s previous four telecasts — singleheaders in Weeks 3 and 5 and a doubleheader in Week 4 — were either down or flat compared to last year.
Despite the increase, Sunday’s audience was the smallest for a singleheader on FOX this season (four total). It still topped the two singleheader telecasts on CBS, which drew 16.7 million (Week 2) and 15.8 million (Week 4).
