After a drop in the overnights, final numbers pulled even for last week’s NFL national window.
The Week 4 NFL national window, featuring Packers/49ers in 57% of markets, drew a 15.0 final rating and 25.9 million viewers on FOX last Sunday afternoon — flat in ratings and up less than 1% in viewership from coverage featuring Eagles/49ers last year (15.0, 25.8M) and down 7% and 4%, respectively, from coverage featuring Eagles/Broncos in 2013 (16.1, 27.0M).
The telecast, which also included Vikings/Broncos in more than a third of markets, ranks as the fifth-most watched of the season on any network. FOX has aired two of the top six telecasts, with surging NBC taking up the other four spots.
The national window was the top NFL telecast of the week, topping NBC’s Sunday Night Football (14.1, 24.2M). In the first four weeks of the season, the national window has been the most-watched NFL telecast three times and the highest rated twice.
The early doubleheader game, featuring Giants/Bills in 68% of markets, drew 12.8 million viewers — down 15% from coverage featuring Packers/Bears last year (15.1M) and down 16% from coverage featuring Seahawks/Texans in 2013 (15.3M). The rating was not immediately available. The telecast ranks as the least-watched of the season on broadcast, not including Sunday’s special 9:30 AM game from London on CBS (9.9M).
