Despite their 4-9 record, the Cowboys again delivered one of the top NFL audiences of the season.
The Week 14 Cowboys/Packers NFL national window drew a 16.5 final rating and 28.9 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon, up 6% in ratings and 11% in viewership from coverage featuring Seahawks/Eagles last year (15.6, 25.9M) and up 2% and 4%, respectively, from coverage featuring Seahawks/49ers in 2013 (16.2, 27.6M).
The Cowboys’ loss ranks as the second-highest rated and third-most watched NFL telecast this season, trailing their Thanksgiving loss to the Panthers in the latter measure (32.5M) and their Week 8 loss to the Seahawks in both (17.0, 29.4M). The Cowboys have generated five of the ten largest audiences through Week 14, more than any other team.
With more Cowboys games on its schedule than the other networks, FOX has now aired the three highest rated games of the season and three of the four most-watched.
Cowboys/Packers easily topped NBC’s Sunday Night Football in ratings (16.5 to 12.3), viewership (28.9M to 21.0M) and the adults 18-49 demographic (8.7 to 7.0). In fourteen weeks this season, the NFL national window has topped SNF twelve times in ratings, thirteen times in viewership, and seven times in the demo.
