The Buccaneers and Rams played in front of the NFL’s smallest television audience this season.
The Week 15 Buccaneers/Rams Thursday Night Football game drew a 3.8 final rating and 6.0 million viewers, down 19% in ratings and down 22% in viewership from Cardinals/Rams last year (4.7, 7.7M) and down 32% and 33%, respectively, from Chargers/Broncos in 2013 (5.6, 8.9M).
The Rams’ win ranks as the lowest rated and least-watched NFL telecast of the season on any network, falling below the previous lows of 4.2 and 6.6 million for Titans/Jaguars on TNF in Week 11. As one would expect, the five games to air exclusively on NFL Network rank among the bottom six. Keep in mind those figures do not include the Bills/Jaguars London game in Week 7, which was livestreamed on Yahoo! and averaged 1.6 million viewers per minute.
Of the five Thursday Night Football games to air exclusively on NFL Network thus far, four have had declines in ratings and viewership. For the season, TNF has had declines for seven of 13 total telecasts.
TNF scored a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, down 17% from last year (2.4), down 39% from 2013 (3.3), and a season-low. Buccaneers/Rams ranked third for the night on television in the demo, trailing The Big Bang Theory (4.1) and Life in Pieces (2.2) on CBS.
