The NFL is now officially seeking bids for Thursday Night Football. In other news, NBC will continue carrying the Breeders Cup Challenge Series and TNT’s NBA studio team is headed to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show.
NFL Officially Requests Bids For TNF
- The NFL has officially requested bids for a new Thursday Night Football contract, Sports Business Daily reported Wednesday, sending requests for proposal to incumbent CBS and challengers ESPN, FOX, NBC and Turner Sports. Running counter to previous reports of a long-term deal, the league is seeking a two-year agreement in which the winner produces all 16 telecasts and simulcasts half — terms that are virtually unchanged from its current agreement with CBS. The league is also seeking bids from digital outlets, including Yahoo! and Google, to stream the TV broadcasts. (Sports Business Daily)
