2016 Olympic Gymnastics TV Schedule

The television schedule for the 2016 Summer Olympics artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competition.

olympicsnbcrioAll of the men’s and women’s gymnastics competition, save for the post-tournament gala, will air tape delayed on the NBC broadcast network. The events will take place primarily in the afternoon but not be televised until NBC’s primetime window. As for rhythmic gymnastics, coverage will air across NBC, NBCSN and USA, with some of the action airing live.

Last Friday’s opening round of the NHL Draft averaged 616,000 viewers on ESPN, up 15% from last year, and behind only the Connor Bedard draft of 2023 (681K) as the most-watched on record.
The season premiere of the BIG3 basketball league — including a Miami-Los Angeles game that was shortened after an altercation — averaged 560,000 viewers on CBS last weekend, on par with last year’s season average.

San Antonio led all markets for the NBA Finals, averaging a 25.9 rating for the Spurs’ five-game defeat at the hands of the Knicks. That figure almost certainly trails each of the Spurs’ previous NBA Finals — the market routinely delivered local ratings in the 30s and 40s during those years — albeit in a different era of television (and Nielsen methodology).
