NHL SuperSkills Competition Hits Low
- Saturday’s NHL All-Star SuperSkills Competition had 870,000 viewers on NBCSN, down 3% from last year (895K), down 21% from 2012 (1.1M), and the smallest audience for the festivities since 2008 (665K). The multi-year low came one night before the actual All-Star Game earned its largest audience since 2004. (via ShowBuzz Daily)
Senior Bowl Ties Viewership High
- The 2016 Senior Bowl earned 758,000 viewers on NFL Network Saturday afternoon, up 14% from last year (668K) and tied with 2014 as the most-watched edition of the game since 2011 (874K). Compared to the two other college football All-Star games, which took place the previous Saturday, it easily topped the Collegiate Bowl (497K, -0.4%) and the East-West Shrine Game (422K, +68%). Super Bowl Media Day No TV Hit
- Super Bowl Media Day, which took place in primetime for the first time this year, scored 413,000 viewers on NFL Network and 281,000 on ESPN2 Monday night. Comparable numbers for last year’s media day were not available. To put the combined audience of 694,000 in perspective, the Pro Bowl Draft had 557,000 on ESPN2 alone last week.
