Report: Carter and Lewis Out, Moss in, on ESPN
- ESPN NFL analysts Cris Carter and Ray Lewis are “expected to be on their way out,” The Big Lead reported Monday. Often cited by ESPN’s social media detractors as proof of the network’s purported double-standards, Carter and Lewis have been in their current roles since 2008 and 2013, respectively. According to the same report, Randy Moss is expected to join ESPN after spending the past three years with Fox Sports. (The Big Lead)
Dwight Howard Replacing Shaq on TNT Tuesday
- Houston Rockets C Dwight Howard will fill in for Shaquille O’Neal on TNT’s NBA studio team Tuesday, joining Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and substitute host Matt Winer. O’Neal and regular host Ernie Johnson are off, presumably to attend that night’s Sports Emmys. (Turner Sports)
Turner’s Kenny Smith Interviewing For Rockets Gig
- TNT NBA analyst Kenny Smith will interview for the vacant Houston Rockets head coaching position on Tuesday, according to the Houston Chronicle. Smith is the longest tenured TNT NBA analyst, having been a member of the network’s studio show since retiring from the NBA in 1998. Smith is not the only NBA TV analyst to pursue a coaching gig this year, joining ESPN’s Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. (Houston Chronicle)
