Monday Night Football keeps plumbing the depths.
Vikings/Bears scored a 6.4 final rating and 10.5 million viewers on the Week 8 edition of ESPN’s Monday Night Football, down 18% in ratings and 16% in viewership from Colts/Panthers last year (7.8, 12.4M) and down 44% in both measures from Washington/Dallas in 2014 (11.4, 18.8M).
The Bears’ win ranks as the lowest rated and least-watched Week 8 edition of MNF, falling below the previous marks of 6.7 for Seahawks/Rams opposite the World Series in 2013 and 10.7 million for 49ers/Cardinals in 2012. All nine MNF telecasts thus far have hit multi-year lows in ratings and viewership, and five have dropped double-digits year-over-year.
Six of the first nine Monday night games this season have had less than a 7.0 rating, topping the previous three seasons combined (four).
MNF scored a 3.5 rating in adults 18-49, down 24% from last year (4.6) and down 49% from 2014 (6.9).
