The Nielsens giveth and the Nielsens taketh away.
The Week 10 NFL singleheader window scored a 7.8 final rating and 13.2 million viewers on CBS Sunday afternoon, down a third in ratings and viewership from last year on FOX (11.6, 19.6M) and down 26% and 24%, respectively, from 2014 on CBS (10.6, 17.4M).
The telecast ranks as the lowest rated and least-watched NFL singleheader this season, falling well below the previous marks of 9.3 and 16.0 million in Week 1.
CBS was a noted exception to a strong day of NFL ratings that saw three of four windows hit multi-year highs — including a 19-year ratings high for the national window and an 18-year viewership mark for Sunday Night Football.
The network was no doubt hurt by a weak four-game lineup topped by the defensive-minded Broncos against the .500 Saints.
