Musburger to Host Radio Show For Gambling Station
- Brent Musburger, who called his final game for ESPN on Tuesday, will soon debut as a radio host for a new gambling-related station founded by his nephew. Sports Illustrated reported Monday that the show, titled My Guys in the Desert, will air Thursdays through Mondays on the Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN), with a special preview edition set for this Sunday. In an interview with SI, Musburger said the idea for VSiN was hatched two years ago and became “serious” last fall after Las Vegas hotel owner Michael Gaughan began building studio space for the venture. Fox Sports’ Lynch Leaving For 49ers
- Fox Sports NFL analyst John Lynch has departed the network to become general manager of the San Francisco 49ers, ending an eight-year run with the network that saw him rise to the network’s #2 broadcast team. Lynch is following the same career path of Matt Millen, who in 2001 went from the #2 NFL on FOX broadcast team to become an executive with the Detroit Lions. (FoxSports.com 1.30)
Cubs’ Ross Joins ESPN
- ESPN has hired former Chicago Cubs C David Ross as an MLB analyst, it was announced Monday. Ross, part of last year’s Cubs championship team, will primarily serve as a studio analyst but also call some games.
