Former Cowboys QB Tony Romo gave the Mavericks a ratings boost last week. In other news, local ratings declined for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Blackhawks during their respective seasons.
Romo Boosts Mavs
- Tuesday’s Nuggets-Mavericks NBA regular season game, in which former Cowboys QB Tony Romo suited up for Dallas, pulled a 1.8 rating on Dallas CBS affiliate KTXA — the team’s third-highest rating of the season. The game peaked in the first half-hour at a 2.8. Ratings doubled both the Mavericks’ season finale the following night and the team’s season average on Fox Sports Southwest (0.9) — which was down 44% from last year (1.6) and down 64% from 2014-15 (2.5). Cavs Ratings Hit Low
- Cleveland Cavaliers NBA games averaged a 7.38 rating on Fox Sports Ohio during the regular season, down 21% from last year’s record 9.31, down 8% from 2014-15 (7.94), and the team’s lowest average with LeBron James on the roster since 2007-08. Despite the lower numbers, it was still the team’s fifth-highest rated season ever on FS Ohio and the second-highest local rating in the NBA. (Crain’s Cleveland 4.14)
Blackhawks Ratings Also Hit Low
