Brando Reupping
- Fox Sports has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with college football and basketball play-by-play voice Tim Brando, Sporting News reported last week. Brando will remain in his current positions, though in an interview with Sporting News, he expressed in working some golf events as well. He joined Fox from CBS in 2014. (Sporting News 4.14)
Albert Retiring
- Longtime boxing announcer Steve Albert, who most recently served as the voice of the Phoenix Suns, has announced his retirement from broadcasting. Albert, the brother of Marv and Al and uncle to Kenny, was the voice of boxing on Showtime from 1987-2011 and called games for a slew of pro teams during the course of his career. (ESPN.com 4.18)
Schefter, Rinaldi, Reporting
- ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter will work the sidelines on Friday’s Celtics-Bulls NBA Playoffs Game 3, his third NBA assignment for the network. He previously worked a Pacers-Cavaliers game in February and a Hawks-Wizards game in March. Tom Rinaldi, who is also a relative newcomer to NBA coverage, will serve as a sideline reporter on Clippers-Jazz the same night. (ESPN Media Zone 4.18)
