A rout of the Cowboys helped Sunday Night Football top the NFL Week 11 ratings charts.
Eagles-Cowboys scored a 13.5 overnight rating on NBC’s Sunday Night Football last night, up 13% from Green Bay-Washington last year (11.9) and up 15% from Bengals-Cardinals in 2015 (11.7).
The Eagles’ blowout win, which peaked at a 14.4 from 9:30-10 PM ET, delivered the largest overnight ever for an SNF game decided by 28 or more points (22 total telecasts).
The Cowboys have played in only two more lopsided SNF games since NBC acquired rights in 2006. Their 32-point loss to New Orleans in 2013 had a 13.0 overnight, and their 38-point drubbing at the hands of the Packers in 2010 had a 12.4.
Compared to previous Eagles-Cowboys games on SNF, this year’s matchup beat last year by 16% (11.6) but trailed the 2015 game by 8% (14.7). Keep in mind last year’s game aired opposite the World Series.
SNF scored the highest NFL overnight of Week 11 and the highest primetime NFL overnight in any week since Week 1.
In other action, the Week 11 NFL national window — featuring Patriots-Raiders in 86% of markets — had a 12.6 overnight, down 18% from last year (mostly Eagles-Seahawks: 15.4) and down 26% from 2015 on FOX (mostly Packers-Vikings: 17.0).
The 12.6 is the lowest for the national window in Week 11 of the season since at least 2002. Excluding Week 17, it is tied as the third-lowest in any week of the season since 2007.
As for the early windows, FOX posted a 10.3 for singleheader coverage featuring Washington-New Orleans or Rams-Vikings in most markets — up 8% from last year (9.5) but down 6% from 2015 on CBS (11.0).
Meanwhile, CBS drew a 7.6 for the first half of its doubleheader (-36%). Not counting the 9:30 AM windows from London, the 7.6 is the lowest for the NFL on broadcast television since at least Week 1.
