CBS posted declines for both games of its Week 10 NFL doubleheader, but the network continues to trend ahead of last season overall.
Sunday’s Week 10 NFL national window, featuring Seahawks-Rams in 76% of markets, had a 12.1 rating and 20.8 million viewers on CBS — down 5% in ratings and viewership from last year (mostly Cowboys-Falcons: 12.8. 22.0M) and down 26% and 28% respectively from 2016 (mostly Cowboys-Steelers: 16.4, 28.9M). Those telecasts aired on FOX.
The telecast marked the lowest rated Week 10 national window since 2002 (11.8) and the least-watched since 2005 (19.8M).
It also posted the third-smallest audience of the season for the national window, ahead of only Week 4 (mostly Saints-Giants: 20.7M) and Week 6 (mostly Jaguars-Cowboys: 17.6M).
In what has been a rebound year for the NFL, the national window has posted a decline in ratings and/or viewership in five of the past seven weeks.
Earlier in the day, the first half of the CBS doubleheader had a 7.2 (-3%) and 11.8 million (-5%).
Despite the pair of declines, CBS continues to trend ahead of last season. The network has averaged 15.8 million viewers for NFL coverage through Week 10, up 4% from last year.
