A showdown-turned-laugher turned in a weak performance on FOX.
Eagles-Saints scored a 10.7 rating and 18.4 million viewers in Sunday’s Week 11 NFL national window on FOX, down 2% in ratings and 3% in viewership from last year (mostly Patriots-Raiders: 10.9, 19.0M) and down 18% and 21% respectively from 2016 (mostly Eagles-Seahawks 13.6, 24.4M). Those telecasts aired on CBS.
The Saints’ blowout win was the lowest rated Week 11 national window since at least 2000 and the least-watched since 2002 (17.0M).
It also delivered the second-lowest rating and viewership for the national window this season, ahead of Week 6 on CBS (mostly Jaguars-Cowboys: 10.2, 17.6M).
While NFL ratings have largely bounced back from the lows of last year, and even 2016, it should be noted that the national window has been a mixed bag. Six of the 11 telecasts have posted a decline in ratings and/or viewership.
Sunday’s telecast had a 5.3 rating in adults 18-49, the lowest for the national window in Week 11 since at least 2000.
Earlier Sunday, regional action featuring Cowboys-Falcons in 71% of markets had a 7.9 and 13.3 million — up 22% in ratings and 24% in viewership from last year (ft. Chiefs-Giants: 6.5, 10.7M) but down 23% and 24% respectively from 2016 (mostly Ravens-Cowboys: 10.2, 17.6M). Those games aired on CBS.
