NFL ratings continue to bounce back, with three of Sunday’s four windows up from last year.
Cowboys-Eagles earned a 13.3 overnight rating on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, up 16% from last year (Patriots-Broncos: 11.5) but down 7% from 2016 (Patriots-Seahawks: 14.3). Compared to previous Sunday night games between the rivals, overnights fell 1% from last year (13.5), but increased 15% from 2016 opposite the World Series (11.6).
The Cowboys’ close win ranks seventh out of NBC’s 11 NFL telecasts this season.
Earlier in the day, CBS earned a 13.7 for the Week 10 national window (Seahawks-Rams in 76% of markets) — down 6% from last year (mostly Cowboys-Falcons: 14.6) and down 23% from 2016 (mostly Cowboys-Steelers: 17.8). Those telecasts aired on FOX. The 13.7 is the lowest for the national window in Week 10 of the season since at least 2001.
For the season, the 13.7 ranks just eighth out of the ten total national windows, ahead of Week 4 (mostly Saints-Giants: 12.3) and Week 6 (mostly Jaguars-Cowboys: 12.0), which also aired on CBS.
As for the afternoon windows, FOX earned a 9.3 for its singleheader (mostly Saints-Bengals or Chargers-Raiders) — up 15% from last year (8.1) and up 12% from 2016 (8.3). Those telecasts aired on CBS. The 9.3 is the highest for the Week 10 singleheader since 2015 on FOX (ft. Vikings-Raiders: 11.7).
Finally, the first half of the CBS doubleheader delivered an 8.9 (+11%).
