Monday Night Football ratings fell to a seven-year low in Week 14.
Vikings-Seahawks delivered a 6.9 rating and 11.4 million viewers on the latest edition of ESPN’s Monday Night Football, down 4% in ratings and 3% in viewership from last year (Patriots-Dolphins: 7.2, 11.8M) and down 12% in both measures from 2016 (Ravens-Patriots: 7.8, 12.9M).
Seattle’s win ranks as the lowest rated and least-watched Week 14 edition of MNF since 2011 (Rams-Seahawks: 6.2, 9.88M).
It also snapped a streak of six straight increases for Monday Night Football. It marked just the second time since Week 3 that MNF has declined.
For the season, Vikings-Seahawks ranks seventh out of ESPN’s 15 NFL telecasts.
MNF scored a 3.5 rating in adults 18-49, down 8% from last year (3.8), down 17% from 2016 (4.2) and the series’ lowest Week 14 rating in the demo since 2007 (3.2). Ratings also hit an 11-year low in adults 18-34 (2.85, -6%) and adults 25-54 (4.0, -11%).
ESPN’s telecast had an 13.1 rating in Minneapolis-St. Paul and an 11.1 in Seattle. Local simulcast coverage had a 28.6 on Seattle CBS affiliate KIRO and a 25.3 on Minneapolis CBS affiliate WCCO. Simulcast figures are not included in ESPN’s national results.
