Sunday Night Football ratings hit a four-year Week 16 high.
Chiefs-Seahawks scored a 10.9 rating and 19.6 million viewers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football last weekend, up 30% in ratings and 28% in viewership from Vikings-Packers on a Saturday night last year (8.4, 15.3M). Compared to Chiefs-Broncos on Christmas night in 2016, ratings increased 3% (from 10.6) but viewership declined 9% (from 21.4M).
The 10.9 rating is the highest for a Week 16 primetime game since 2014, when Seahawks-Cardinals had an 11.5.
Seattle’s win was the 12th of the past 16 games on NBC to post an increase over last year.
SNF scored a 5.4 rating in adults 18-49, up 32% from last year (4.1) but down 16% from 2016 (6.4). Outside of last year’s Saturday game, the 5.4 is the lowest for SNF in Week 16 since 2007 (5.0).
It also drew a 3.9 in adults 18-34 (+26%) and a 6.8 in adults 25-54 (+31%). Outside of last year, ratings tied an 13-year low in the former and an 11-year low in the latter.
Kansas City led all markets Sunday night with a 43.5 rating, followed by Seattle at a 39.7. New Orleans was the top neutral market at a 21.5, with Portland (19.1) and Norfolk, Va. (15.7) rounding out the top five.
