ESPN on Tuesday announced a slew of long-rumored changes to its ESPN Radio line-up, including the end of “Golic & Wingo” and new shows for Mike Greenberg and Max Kellerman.
The ESPN Radio morning show team of Trey Wingo and Mike Golic will be replaced by Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams and Zubin Mehenti effective August 17, it was announced Tuesday. The new show will be titled “Keyshawn, Jay and Zubin.”
Johnson’s move to the morning show has been an open secret for weeks. The addition of Williams and Mehenti was first reported Monday by the New York Post and Sports Business Daily.
Per the Post, the show will be centered on Johnson and Williams, with Mehenti serving as “the point guard.”
The status of Wingo and Golic remains unclear. Golic had co-hosted the morning show since 2000, spending the first 17 years of that run alongside Mike Greenberg. At least one member of the current cast will continue with ESPN Radio; Mike Golic Jr. has been named co-host of a new late afternoon show with Chiney Ogwumike.
In addition to the morning show changes, ESPN Radio will debut a pair of new shows hosted by Mike Greenberg and Max Kellerman. Greenberg’s show will air from Noon-2 PM ET and Kellerman’s from 2-4. As a result, the preceding “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” will be shortened to 10 AM-Noon.
Greenberg and Kellerman were long rumored as potential options for ESPN Radio, with the latter once thought to be a contender for the morning slot.
