The Bruins’ championship defense has gotten off to a strong start in Boston.
Through November, Bruins telecasts have averaged a 4.5 rating on NESN in the Boston market, up 70% from the comparable period last year. Games averaged a 5.3 rating in the month of November, the network’s highest average ever for Bruins games in a single month.
November included five of the seven highest rated regular season Bruins games ever on NESN, including a record 8.4 rating for Bruins/Sabres on November 23.
No doubt the Bruins rapid ascension can be attributed to the momentum from last season’s Stanley Cup Final victory over the Canucks and the absence of the NBA’s Celtics.
