On the schedule in favor of the original Colts/Patriots matchup, Sunday’s Lions/Saints game suffered a double-digit decline in overnight ratings on NBC.
The Week 13 edition of Sunday Night Football, pitting the 7-4 Lions against the Saints, earned an 11.9 overnight rating on NBC — down 19% from Week 13 last year (BAL/PIT: 14.6), and down 13% from Week 13 in 2009 (MIN/ARI: 13.7).
The 11.9 overnight is the third-lowest of the season for the NFL on NBC, ahead of only Vikings/Bears in Week 6 (10.9) and Colts/Saints in Week 7 (8.2).
The Saints’ win earned a 56.3 rating in New Orleans and a 26.5 in Detroit. Las Vegas (18.7), San Diego (16.3), and Milwaukee (15.4) rounded out the top five.
