The SEC Championship Game earned the best numbers of college football’s conference championship weekend.
Saturday’s #14 Georgia/#1 LSU SEC Championship Game earned a 7.4 overnight rating on CBS, up 18% from last year’s title game (AUB/SC: 6.3), but down 37% from the 2009 game (ALA/UF: 11.8).
The 7.4 overnight is the third-highest overnight for the SEC Championship Game dating back to 2001, and the highest for a game that did not involve Alabama or Florida.
The SEC title game earned the top college football overnight rating of the weekend, and doubled #10 Oklahoma/#3 Oklahoma State on ABC (3.7).
