Though down from last year, CBS earned strong numbers for #3 Arkansas/#1 LSU on the day after Thanksgiving.
LSU’s blowout win over Arkansas earned a 6.3 final rating and 10.444 million viewers on CBS November 25, down 14% in ratings and 17% in viewership from last year’s ‘Black Friday’ game (AUB/ALA: 7.3, 12.520M), and up 29% in both measures compared to 2009 (ALA/AUB: 4.9, 8.124M).
The game earned the second-largest audience of the season for college football on any network, behind only #1 LSU/#2 Alabama in November (11.5, 20.011M).
The next day, #2 Alabama/#24 Auburn earned a 4.5 and 7.508 million viewers, up 5% in ratings and 3% in viewership from last year (LSU/ARK: 4.3, 7.303M), but down 4% and 3%, respectively, from 2009 (FSU/UF: 4.7, 7.491M).
