Washington Post columnist Michael Wilbon is at his Scottsdale, Arizona home, recovering from a minor heart attack earlier this week.
Wilbon is apparently feeling so well that he plans on playing golf this weekend, reports the Sports on My Mind blog. The angioplasty procedure performed on the Pardon the Interruption co-host apparently gave him an “energy surge” that resulted in his desire to return to work as early as today. He “was convinced by his doctors, wife, and friends to follow doctor?s orders and relax” until cleared to return.
As a result, Wilbon will not be on the air Sunday for ABC GMC NBA Countdown; Stuart Scott and Bill Walton will handle studio duties.
Wilbon left a comment on Roy S. Johnson‘s sports blog, writing in part “I can?t possibly thank everybody enough for their kind wishes and words of support the last couple of days.”
