The Hawks and Bobcats better cooperate.
ABC has added the Los Angeles Lakers/Houston Rockets game to its schedule this Sunday. The game will be the second half of a double-header, with the previously scheduled New Orleans/Detroit game moving to 1:00 PM.
The Rockets, currently on a 19 game winning streak, could be on a 21-game streak by tip off. The game will mark Houston’s first appearance on network television this year.
Lakers/Rockets will mark the fifth appearance of the season by the Lakers on ABC. Five appearances is the maximum for an individual team on the network, meaning ABC will either drop a potentially gigantic Spurs/Lakers match-up on April 13th, or give the Lakers an extra appearance this season. Currently, ESPN lists Spurs/Lakers as still appearing on ABC.
While the Hornets first network television appearance in six years will no longer be the main draw, the team and its fans can take solace in the fact that the game against Detroit is just the first of now two ABC appearances. ABC has officially added Warriors/Hornets to its schedule on April 6, replacing Heat/Pistons. The game will mark the first network television appearance for the Warriors since the mid-1990s.
