CBS has again passed up the opportunity to air the NFL Pro Bowl. In other news, NBC will stream every single Olympic event live — though with one caveat — and college football’s Music City Bowl will get its earliest start time ever.
- CBS Gives Up Pro Bowl to NBC: CBS has passed on televising the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl, Fang’s Bites reported Wednesday, allowing NBC to televise the all-star exhibition for the second straight year. CBS was granted the rights to three Pro Bowls under the 2005 NFL television contract, but only aired one (2007). (Fang’s Bites)
- All Olympic Events to Be Streamed Live: Every single event at the 2012 London Olympics will be streamed live on nbcolympics.com, according to the New York Times, with the caveat that several marquee events — such as swimming, gymnastics, and track & field — will not be available to rewatch until after the conclusion of NBC’s nightly primetime coverage. NBC is expected to announce the move on Wednesday. (New York Times)
- Music City Bowl Gets Noon ET Start (CORRECTED): The 2012 Music City Bowl on ESPN will air at 12 PM ET on Monday, December 31, as the first game of a college football bowl tripleheader. Last year’s Music City Bowl aired at 6:30 PM ET on December 30. Based on incorrect information from The Tennessean, a previous version of this post erroneously stated that the 12 PM start time was the earliest ever for the game. (The Tennessean)
