Viewership dropped by more than a third for Monday’s WNBA Draft. Elsewhere, Bulls/Heat was a slightly smaller draw Thursday night than a week before, and ratings for the Texas Rangers during the early part of the MLB season have more than doubled those of the Dallas Mavericks.
- Viewership Down By Over a Third For WNBA Draft: The 2012 WNBA Draft drew 189,000 viewers on ESPN2 Monday afternoon, down 35% from last year (292K, ESPN), when Maya Moore was drafted #1 overall. (ESPN)
- Bulls/Heat Rematch Down Slightly From Previous Week: Thursday’s Heat/Bulls NBA regular season game drew a 2.6 overnight rating on TNT, down a tick from the same matchup in the same timeslot a week earlier (2.7). The four Heat/Bulls games this season drew overnights of 4.1 (1/29, ABC), 2.2 (3/14, ESPN), 2.7 (4/12, TNT) and 2.6 (4/19, TNT). Also Thursday night, Clippers/Suns drew a 1.7 overnight on TNT. - Rangers Pummeling Mavericks in Dallas-Ft. Worth: According to the Houston Chronicle, Dallas Mavericks games have averaged a 3.0 rating in the Dallas-Ft.
